Who we are

Cattitude TVNR operates in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick/Richland/Pasco), WA area, providing trapping, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and return (TVNR) services.  Our mission is to help control the population of cat colonies through spaying/neutering, manage the spread of disease through vaccination, survey the environment that colonies live in, and educate the residents in the area to make sure the cats are well cared for (e.g., shelters, food, clean water, etc.).

The traps we use are the most humane on the market and are the least likely to cause an injury to the animal.  Cattitude TVNR works closely with our partnered veterinarians and other organizations that aim to improve the wellbeing of cat colonies and even rehome kittens and friendly cats when possible.  After an overnight stay to monitor their health, most cats are returned to the colony/site they were trapped at.

As part of the process, we provide the cats with clean bedding during their stay with us, plenty of food, and fresh water.  The cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ear tipped to indicate they have been fixed.  If there are any complications from the surgery, the cats are cared for until they are healthy enough to return to their colony.  Unfortunately, we also find cats that are in very poor health and we work closely with our veterinarian partners to diagnose the issue, resolve if possible, and only euthanize as a last resort and at the recommendation of the veterinarian.

There have been many studies that prove that TNR is an effective and humane approach to curb the over population of stray and feral cats.  Spaying and neutering cats not only helps manage population growth, but also helps to manage a cat’s body weight while reducing roaming, yowling and fighting during mating season.  Vaccination helps to prevent the spread of diseases among cats and maintain healthy colonies.

Cats are part of a natural and balanced ecosystem.  One of the more important jobs they do is helping keep rodent and bug populations in check.  If people help take care of these colonies, the cats will remain healthy.  We do not just focus on spaying/neutering of cats, but also the education of local residents to help make sure the work we do lasts and that these cats are able to live healthy lives and be a positive part of the neighborhood.
